I think it's needed to maintain the semantic tags, while also enabling simpler, 
quicker editing (there are other requirements, like translation, I'm not 
talking about here, but they also exist).  I'm investigating a couple of ways 
to do this: docbookwiki and an xslt extension to Confluence.  MediaWiki may 
also be a possibility, but it may require more work than the other options (it 
has the advantage of being a bit better on the translation side, IMHO).

I don't believe that just converting from Solbook to Wiki (Confluence or 
MediaWiki) will solve both of these problems.  In the short term, we'll be 
manually moving changes from Wiki to the Solbook version, so that they stay in 
sync.  It's a pain, but I expect we'll find a better way soon.

Note: I also have the action item to figure out the legal requirements with the 
Sun OpenSolaris folks.  My reading of the PDL suggests that we're OK, but I 
want to double check on this...
