We had the local EMS guru in this week. He strongly suggested not integrating Intune and CM. He said it's a not a good experience. He indicated that if we need to maintain an on-prem solution we shouldn't try to use the single pane of glass and rather just manage them separately. That was disappointing to hear!

There will be a new version of ConfigMgr, that much has already been disclosed on the ConfigMgr team blog. We did discuss items like this at TechEd Europe this week. We believe (and analysts like Gartner agree) that there is the need for choices in management, both on-prem and in the cloud. So we need both of them to continue. The ConfigMgr/Intune vision is one "single pain of glass" for administration, even using two different management "channels." Will there even be an next version, or is InTune being groomed to take over all of its functionality? I've been waiting for this change. OSD is the major obstacle for SCCM moving to the Cloud (merging to Intune). Is the next version of ConfigMgr the last on-premise version ? Seesm like MS is heading towards a model where we don't deploy the actual OS anymore. With Windows 10 and beyond the OS will be there and we will just configure it. There was a TEE session that covered this at a high level: http://t.co/2GkjIE6XRA The only real major change is that they will support in place upgrades within ConfigMgr to Win 10 and have a task sequence type for this now. MDT is not going away anytime soon although they didn't give any real details. Hey Everyone, Has anyone heard what MS plans to use for deploying Windows 10? Will there be more emphasis on VHDs ? What changes will Windows 10 bring to deployment scenarios ? Just random thought really John ________________________________ Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail is from a law firm and may be protected by the attorney-client or work product privileges.
