Here is how I understand it being in the middle of this right now. We use the 11 digit NDC on the DIN/NDC field of the drug. We store all the other NDC numbers, like 10 digit and alternate vendors, in the Alt-NDC field. We decided to add the numbers as the items come in from our wholesaler. There are ways to get the whole NDC master from your FSV vendor and then script in all the NDC numbers for each item. Make sure and do an archive search for more information.
