What happens is that you do 1 load which is for both PHA and RxM. Those meds which you currently have in PHA as formulary remain untouched. Those meds which are loaded as RXM are done so and are in the background. No more suspend file. There is a new field at the top of the drug dict: All meds in PHA previously automatically get this usage type set as formulary the first time you access the drug after the load. The RxM drugs are in the background as retail usage types. You can look these up by typing RT\ in the mnemonic field: or by DIN/NDC by typing: RTN\1234455667 You can access and bring into PHA by changing the usage type from retail to fomulary. If you don't use the Medispan mnemonics, then you can copy the retail entry to create your own mnemonic for the formulary entry. The ONLY good thing about it is that you don't have to be changing your parameters back and forth to do the separate loads.

Meditech didn't supply any documentation for this. We didn't want to mess up our nicely ordered PHA of 3-4,000 meds with the 40,000+ meds that the service load for RXM would supply. We have decided we are going to shut off the load for RXM to not mess up PHA, then we will add the rest of the RXM by hand. If anyone else has a better idea for us, we are open to suggestion.
