I just wanted to remind everyone why this is being done. This "enhancement" will allow Nursing to pick any drug from the Home Medication function in EDM to allow for interaction/allergy checking on the inpatient side. Yes, this may not be the best but at least we have to be amazed that Meditech took it to this step. As far as size, FirstDataBank only includes active NDCs and inactive NDCs inactivated less than 3 years ago. This makes for smaller files. It would be nice if Meditech would screen the other vendors to something like that. Just my 2 cents.
