Thank you for working on this. > ...I'd rather see a few disclaimers than seeing these > companies disappear I agree. As I said in my original email, I'm merely suggesting that Meego (and other projects) should make a recommendation against the auto-inclusion of these bits of legalese. By making such a recommendation I hope that we can actually give the employees the necessary ammo to go back to their employers and ask them to turn off the auto-inclusion or to relax the company policy that makes the inclusion mandatory. > because they're getting flamed on our mailinglist. I apologize if it sounded that way -- I'm not trying to flame anyone. I'm just concerned about the appropriateness of any of us posting vaguely legal-sounding text to our common list that seems to imply some kind of legal burden upon other community members regarding confidentiality and prohibition of use. If there are community members who do not have the organizational authority or technical wherewithal to remove this kind of legal text from their email, would it be too much to ask them to rebut the footer text in their first post to the list? What about something like "I'm unable to remove the legalese below, but for all of my email posts to Meego mailing lists, everyone may disregard this legalese" ? (feel free to correct me here, lawyers) > Can you, if posting OT, please at least change the subject line? > Apologies, I was going to split the email into two pieces but forgot to do so. --Robinson _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
