"btrfs as default fs" isn't a clear statement.

-- btrfs can only use on HD/SSD/MMC, which is actually used in
netbook/desktop/PC like device.
-- Currently, mobile phone, etc. doesn't use these but bare flash instead as
main persistent storage, so that jffs2/yaffs2/ubifs applies. I think N900
falls in this category. UBIFS seems have most potentials.

These also implies different installation procedure:
1) partition, mkfs.btrfs, copy files ...
2) create jffs2/yaffs2/ubifs image (firmware), download/flash to device

BTW, MMC is available in a lot of devices, but it is not qualified to be
main storage because of its slow SD interface.
