I built another vmdk image with the repo at

Does the kernel not have appropriate drivers in the image at this repo? Should
I try compiling the kernel image with some specific graphics drivers to see the
graphics boot? I would really like to see some Graphical UI before 1.0 is
released. Should I try qemu instead of vmware?

On bugs.meego.com, I can see several bugs related to Graphical UI, how can I
reproduce the developer environment on my box? What repo should I use?

at least for the netbook/x86 UI, your VM is not going to work... really. I don't want anyone to have false hope on this.... it's just not something that's going to work; and even if someone spends a lot of time to get it sort of working, it's going to be a rather shitty
experience. We've seen in this since Moblin 2.0 days and nobody really got this
to work nice.
Now if you want you can blow some hours of time on this, and by all means,
don't let me stop you.
But I want to at least not give you or anyone else false hope or false
expectations upfront....

no 3D acceleration -> No UI. Seriously.
in fact, for netbook: if your X server or gfx driver would need root privileges
-> no graphics in default image.
(yes you can make your X server setuid-root yourself and accept the security
risk.. but our default images
behave securely in this regard)
