Simple reason is that Joggler is anything but ordinary - if an ordinary kernel would have worked I would have taken it in a heartbeat CONFIG_RELOCATABLE (which is in some configurations) breaks the EFI boot loaders (EFI-only), CONFIG_FB_EFI is needed (which kernel-netbook doesn't have), as well as some extra custom devices + patches for backlight and such. More differences can probably be found. These small details will happen on sufficiently dedicated devices, hence the need for a guide like this. I could have taken a ARM device (N810) but had my Joggler work laid out for me. :) Best regards, Carsten Munk _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
