Simple reason is that Joggler is anything but ordinary - if an
ordinary kernel would have worked I would have taken it in a heartbeat

CONFIG_RELOCATABLE (which is in some configurations) breaks the EFI
boot loaders (EFI-only), CONFIG_FB_EFI is needed (which kernel-netbook
doesn't have), as well as some extra custom devices + patches for
backlight and such. More differences can probably be found.

These small details will happen on sufficiently dedicated devices,
hence the need for a guide like this. I could have taken a ARM device
(N810) but had my Joggler work laid out for me. :)

ok yeah linux does not support 32 bit efi really
(there's some code but nobody maintains it)
We plan to support UEFI by going to a 64 bit kernel....


you're going to have fun getting that all to really work I suspect.
