I'll check what we can do to reduce the maintenance burden of the patch.
This is a bit unfortunate for us since we do need to focus on XInput 2.1
anyway: other teams will not stop because of MeeGo. If they forge ahead with
the development, we need to be a part of it to ensure our needs are met.
One final question: if the X.org input driver is written with XI2.1 and works
on top of X.org 1.9, can we still add it to MeeGo 1.2?
Note that I have no idea if this driver is possible on top of X.org 1.9. But
before I ask anyone to commit resources to this backport, it's important to
know if it can be accepted. That is, if it comes at the correct time, with the
usual quality reviews. I just need to know that this option isn't outright
rejected.
