If someone cares, (s)he better read the mail. If not, the discussion contributions are unlikely to be missed. Or, put in a more PC way, people who do not care are unlikely to rank high enough in the meritocratic meego system to make a difference. People who want to get work done, be it paid or volunteered, can not pay attention to every one-off shout. That said, the signal to noise ratio has improved a lot in the last few months.
