I think the people who need looking after here are those who need or want jobs. If we can figure out what's best for them, I think the rest is easy.
The thing about all communities is that there will be a diversity of opinions. Let's just settle on a policy and then minimise the meta thereafter. Thanks everyone for all their emails so far.
