Dan,
The idle jets on a single weber for L16,l L18, & L20 are usually 50F9 's.
These will always work if your float level is correct and the carburretor
idle holes the jet screws into have not been broken open by overtightening.
If 50F9,s do not work look at the float level and set it between 8 & 16mm
by holding the top of the carb on its side and letting the float dangle
down. With a light touch towards the carb top, the float should be 8 mm
frrom the gasket when the needle and seat are closed. When the float is
lightly pulled away from the carb top the base of the float should be 16mm
away from the gasket when the float travel limit is reached.
The only other thing is if the needle & seat are worn this will cause the
mixture to become rich at idle and even cause fuel spillage from the carb
throats! DANGEROUS!
Cheers
Feral Errol

Subject: Idle mixtures on DCOE weber

Can anyone on the list please help me, the idle mixture on my 16 is too
rich, I tried the idle mixture screws but they don't do anything as the
jets are the wrong ones they are a 50 something (nothing else on the jet
sorry), anyway I was told to put 45f9 jets in, will this fix it or cause
more problems, the car was dyno tuned so when its on the main jets it is
fine, will changing the idle jets effect this? Or could the problem be
something else?

Thanks
