Are you kidding, a four core radiator and it's overheating, you wont overheat
an L series with up to 200 hp with an a/c going running up the Clyde Mountain
on a 40 degree day - changing the thermostat will more than likely not fix
the problem (you should use 180F min as 165F is too cold and wear your engine
out in double quick time). The water pump or more likely the radiator is
blocked is still my best guess from the symptoms posted.
