Might sound silly, but is the thermostat in the right way??

If the rad was half blocked ,and,if you have the thermostat in thats
even less water flow through the engine so it might heat up.
Half blocked rad no thermostat = more water flow thru engine,hence runs
colder.
Does the engine over heat with out the thermostat at speed?e.g 80Mhp.Or
does it run even colder??..
What type of water pump and fan do you use?
I found the visc's(what ever) fan ,the engine runs hotter at high speed
than it would if it had a 510 fan on it.
