One major 510 rust problem most people dont see in under the hood lining on the inside of the roof piller's. Also if you weld in a patch you carn't clean up the unside so yes they rust from the inside out. Never use gas to weld as the flux has a acid in it If you have ever taken the stills off a 510 you will know that the rust under neath can be quite bad and its not seen till the sills are off. as for getting paint off,use a 3M paint and rust stripper disc, they do cost heaps each but is very much worth it. Why use paint stripper then you have to wash it with water(what a waste of time)if anything use thinners to wash not water like it says on the bottle.
