Back in "the good old days", when Aussi rallies were called "Trials" the
tracks? were pretty rough.  You needed soft springs to handle the really
rugged tracks we invariably encountered.  Softish, long travel suspension
with high quality shockers such as you are running was best. Slightly
stiffer than standard front springs and stock rears wasn't a bad starting
point.  Bitumen was strictly for transport sections so no need to adjust for
this.
