I dont go for the 'rock hard" front springs theory. The body will break up
too quickly and the car wont be rock solid on rough roads, like a good
Datto rally car should be. Maybe variable up 20 - 40% heavier spring
rates, and standard or even longer travel, but used with high quality gas
struts and bump stops, such as KYB or similar.
Rears, not too much harder than standard, again use high quality gas
shockers - Bilstiens were great, not sure if you can still obtain them, if
not, try asking for Bilstiens to fit an LJ Torana, these work well an a
rally 1600 rear end.
Talk to Peter Davis in Melbourne or Drummond Suspension in Albury for the
best advice.

Subject: Spring Rates
Hi All,
This one is for the suspension/rally experts, what are the suggested
spring rates for Rallying?? I am of the understanding that the preffered
setup is a rock hard front, and semi hard rears, hust wondering your
thoughts.
Also any suggestion as to how to go about strengthening 180b front
struts??
Thanks All
Guy
