Having a few problems with my FJ20t. Fired it up for the first time in 3 and
a half months last night after giving it the once over and it started first
time no worries. Let it warm up and all the usual shit then took it for a
spin with my bro and his SR20det 1600. Was all going fine till I lined him
up at a set of lights. The volt meter (vdo) went off the clock as soon as
the revs got to over 5000rpm, reading around 18-20 volts which blew the low
beams (80-100w H4s) and sent the tacho (autometer) crazy. After this the
motor started idling between 1200- 1500 rpm. Got it home no worries and
discovered a faulty battery master switch which I replaced. Still it keeps
running the volts gauge off the clock. Anyone got any ideas what might be
causing this.
Jake
