My immediate response to your idea is "it depends on why you want
to do this."

If it's for the challenge or just to be different then fair
enough, good luck and have fun.

If it's just for the pleasure and safety of having 4 discs on the
1600 then why would you not consider using low cost easily
obtainable and reasonably easy to fit brake upgrade bits from
later model Nissans that incidentally out brake the VT Commodore
(including SS) anyway, and i'm not saying the VT has bad brakes
either as for a Holden they are very reasonable.

Have you ever driven a 1600 with say a 200B/R31 (solid/solid) or
Verada/R31 (ventilated/solid) brake combo. With either of these
when well sorted (by that i mean correct booster/master cyl/prop
valve etc.) and fitted for under a $1000 it will give your 1600
brakes that exceed the required engineering standards required for
a turbo engine.
