Straight from the horses mouth (Australian Customs), here is some info
on import duty.

Most motor vehicle parts attract a duty rate of 15% Customs duty and 10%
GST. It makes no difference whether they are new or second hand.
Thus for your wheels with a freight and insurance figure of $250
Customs Duty = 3000 x15% = 450
GST =( 3000 + 450 +250) = 370
Thus total Duty and Tax = $820
These figures should give you an idea of how much it will cost you."
