Cameron,
A m/cylinder change could be required when you go to R31 rears, but from my
experience the R31's fluid capacity is very close to the standard 510 drum
cylinders. I had the smaller 1200 cylinders in mine before the conversion
and post conversion I was surprised how good the pedal feel still was, Mr
Nissan couldn't have designed it to be any better. I wouldn't have known
there were discs in the back by the feel other than the amazing reduction in
stopping distance.
The only problem is that there are so many different brake components
combinations that we use and they will feel different as it isn't a static
science. Maybe we should put a braking component info sheet together as a
guide as ever since I've been around here I think brake upgrades and
associated problems has been up there with the most discussion topics.
regards,
Terry

Hey,
if you are going to do just the quad spots on the front you would
probably want to try the 7/8 master cylinder, but when you go for the R31
rear discs you may have to go up to a 15/16 master cylinder cus you may have
too much "freeway" in the pedal.... i have found that even the quad spots on
the front (havent put the rear discs on yet) there is a little bit of
"freeway" in the pedal with a 7/8 master... so you really have to try for
yourself and see what you feel comfortable with...
