I have a few questions regarding my install of the SR20 into my series 2
bluebird I hope someone out there has some answers for me.
The engine fits nicely in the engine bay and I have good clearance all
round. The only thing is, that it doesn't line up with the old mounts on the
cross-member... The mounts on the engine are about an inch too far in on
each side. I also butchered the old rubbers when I took out the old L20..
I don't want to change the cross member. I perhaps want to weld something
like an adaptor onto the existing cross-member. I want to know if this will
pass for an engineer's certificate in NSW if I do this. Or should I
cold-chisel the old one off the cross-member and shorten it and then weld it
back in a little further inward that it was.?!?
Also I need to buy some engine mount rubbers. Anybody have any I can buy or
know where I can buy some cheaply.? The ones that came witht he motor had
the bolts hacked off with a angle grinder when the engine was removed so the
SR rubbers are no good. I now have 4 shot engine mount rubbers...
