As I understand it,
The H165 diff has the diff carrier installed from the front of
the axle case, whereas
The H190 diff has the rear inspection plate
arrangement.
I am slightly confused as the Datsun manual apparantly uses
the H165 picture for both axles.
Also, the H190 is a stronger, tougher setup
Questions...
How do diff baffles work? I understand that they stop oil
sloshing ito axle tubes during sustained cornering. But what kind of clearance
is there between the axle and the hole in the baffle plate?
How would you go about fabricating them, or where could I buy
a set?
I have heard that 720 4X4 rear diffs are 2 pinion LSD's, but
I've checked a couple - they could have been non std. or something -
and they were open. Are all 720 4X4's LSD equipped from new or was it only
an option? What are list members' experiences in this area?
Does anyone have a H190 LSD centre for sale or know where to
get one?
What about crown wheel and pinion sets?
Finally, has anyone here tried to deal direct with
NISMO?
Thanks in advance,
Nick
