I've found the steering column is usually fairly easy to exchange, the only
part of the 1600 steering to get off that's a pain is the pitman arm.

Subject: more steering box stuff

now that this topik is taking over the list id just like sum advise.
we have 3 1600s and all have different steering boxes. mine is a 68 and it
has the solid tube into the top of sttering box held in by 3 bolts. Ive been
told this is a bitch to remove, and if i choose to go with anuva type of
steering box then im gonna need the steering shaft etc from that model. Can
anyone here gimme advise on what to do in this situation. or if i could weld
a flexy joint to the end of the steering shaft as ive seen on another 1600
im unsure what steering box they were using in that instance. thanks
Chris
