You have the fully imported early type steering box/column fitted to all '68
models as these were built in Japan. Look after your car, it has a much
better shell than a locally built one.

My Jap built 1600SSS still had this column in 1971, but from '70 on Oz built
cars had the separate box with the collapsible column and uni joint
connecting the column to the box.

You can bolt the later column/box into your car, but you may also need
change the drag link and tie rods as these were larger dia than the early
ones and yours may not bolt up to the later pitman arm..
