I did have the car body on stands with the rear trailing arms hanging down.
Why should the crossmember move at all? My bushes are all new and I can't
see any movement in them (body to crossmember ones). It was definitely not
an R200 as I removed it from an auto Nov 1979 skyline, it is an open 3.9
R180.

Another problem I had was trying to put the moustache bar back on. Due to
the bulge on the bottom of the diff, towards the front, being bigger and
going further forward than the R160 diff, the R180 would not slide far
enough forward to allow the moustache bar to be slid onto the body studs
without hitting the studs coming out of the rear diff casing. I had to
bend the moustache bar out a bit temporarily to get it on. Anyone had this
problem?
