All I can advise you is to write a nice letter to the

Review Unit,
Infringment Processing Bureau
PO BOX 4444
Parramatta 2124

explain to them what happened, that you have an unblemished driving record,
you are very sorry and won't do it again and plead your case to them.
Sometimes they say yes, sometimes no. It depends on your attitude.

The bottom line is that you are supposed to carry your licence when driving,
and produce it when required to do so. When you obtain your licence, you
study the road users handbook, so you know what the go is. The Officer is
only doing his job. I know from personal experience that unlicenced /
cancelled / suspended / disqualified drivers *always* try to pull the wool
over your eyes and give rello's names, brothers, sisters etc. Fake ids are
easy to come by. Not for a minute am I suggesting you are in any of these
categories, but then again, the Officer on the side of the road doesn't know
that either.

Anyhow, instead of taking your age id to the concert, why not take just your
licence instead. Kills two birds with one stone. And if you had your
licence stolen, then you can't reasonably be expected to produce it, so no
fine anyhow.

As to your dad getting off, and your mate, well they were lucky. I don't
know the circumstances around it, so I can't really pass comment. And as
for Mr Faber Castell, I couldn't agree with you more. As it is the police
are demanding the D.P.P. appeal the conviction on the grounds it was gossly
inadequate. Anyhow, said enough, there are always two sides to every story,
try writing a letter in and see how you go.

Cheers,
Wardy
