Richard,

I did nothing other than pull up to the blue bowser at Shell and fill the tank up with 
Optimax. It took a couple of tankfuls to clean out and that was it.

The only thing to be mindful is that other than increaseing octane, Lead was added as 
a lubricant.  This is usually not a problem for Nissan engines as the Japs had 
unleaded from the mid-70's.  Potentially, the cylinder head will require harder seals 
for the valve stems or do what I do and that is add some upper cylinder lubricant 
every couple of months.  optimax promotes a number of additives (eg. cleaning agent) 
but I am not sure whether upper cylinder lubricant is part of it or not.  Yoyu could 
always run some leaded through the system every now and again too.
