Listers and Errol, I thought I had sent this mail to Errol but apparently
this week has been too long, I sent it to the list instead, an honest
mistake. My apologies.
Regards,
- Tom

Hi Errol
Just for kicks we stuck a multimeter on the battery while cranking- it seems
that even with a jump start from a revving jumpee car the voltage drops to
6-7v. This means the starter is drawing MEGA amounts of current - I've
dropped it into the local auto electricians for an evaluation. It's
probably just not cranking fast enough- it behaves like the battery is flat
even with two stout batterys and the 50A alternator in my Gemini.
I have to say I've been more than happy with your eagerness to help and the
quality of service that you delivered, but, I've already had to recondition
the alternator on this motor because it was on it's last legs (the sparky
gave it 1 month tops), and after this starter is done I will be about $230
out of pocket in total. I appreciate that it's a second hand engine from an
old car, but it *was* supposed to be a runner.
