James,

Unless you are lucky enough to have the Nismo TVC-4PR Mitsui dizzy which was
designed to be run with Mikuni's and therefore work a treat with Webers your
better off with the electronic S2. The points dizzies in L series production
engines are crap (especially the Aussie ones) although the Japanese Hitachi
is acceptable but getting very worn in the shafts these days which gives
over spec dwell variance. (IMHO of course)

regards
Terry

Subject: Electronic Dizzy

Hey everyone,

I was considering replacing the old points dizzy on my L20B with a series II
Bluebird electronic one. I guess the obvious advantages is not having to
replace the points at every service. However someone informed me that the
orignal points dizzy produced more power (spark?) and was often used on race
cars as opposed to an electronic one.

Can any one confirm or disprove this statement? And what are the advantages
and disadvantages (if any) of the elctronic over the points dizzy?

Much Thanks,

James Cox
