All local delivered S14s use a standard T28, there is a rumour that some were fitted
with the BB centre, and only on late models, but having looked at countless S14s I
have not seen a factory BB model.

The BB turbo will spool up earlier than a standard one, but we are only talking 5-600
rpm difference, an easy way to check if its BB is to blow hard into the comp housing,
if the wheel turns easily and continues for 3 or so seconds after you stop it would
more than likely be BB, standard units require oil to float the shaft, so there is
more drag when there is no oil pressure, so it wont turn as easy, if at all when blown
on. also there is more play in the shaft on the standard units, 2mm or so, where the
BBs feel pretty tight.

$400 for a T28 is pretty good, dependant on Kms and how it was looked after.
