Tim,

Thanks for your comments it's interesting to hear from another stroker
owner. Is the bottom end totally stock? If so then 6500rpm is a reasonable
redline for such a torquey engine! This would be the advantage of using the
20mm taller Z24 block and 165mm Z24 rods over L20b gear. Do you know if the
redline set to this because of the injectors leaning out or for precaution
against motor damage? How's the fuel consumption now? Sorry about all the
questions, I wanted to get information from a real motor rather than working
on theory!

Cheers,

- Tom

sorry to butt in I was just ready your email about your LZ24 motor,in
my datto I have a modified z24 block (how modified i forget,going
back two years) and is attached to a highly modifed 20b head. The
speedo just clicked over 11,000 miles and it was brought s/h of a
friend
which used to be in a off road competition buggy and I just fitted
straight up to my datsun. When I fist brought it i rigged up twin
su's off a 4.2 liter jag but I couldn't afford the fuel bills so
about a year or so ago I got set up with fuel injection and the
computers cut off is at 6,500 rpm and I generally spin it up to 6,000
rpm in 1st 2nd 3rd, and once in forth 120mph (so i don't do it much)
and it spins up really easy and loves it around 4000, 4500 rpm. the
only problems have been 1 cooked h/d 8"'clutch and pressure plate and
flywheel, and a now very tired 3:5 diff. It was dynoed but the shop
said there machine didn't do charts but said the rear wheel horse was
around 130- 140hp> my efi system is off a 180b jap import motor
fitted up with vg30 throttle body and a (link) management system.
