Have you tried looking through the AutoAction classifieds and alike ? I have
seen some good buys in there over the years.
I nearly bought a Les Collins L20 stroker about 4 years ago out of the
AutoAction classifieds. It had over $13500 spent on it. The motor was
producing 198hp and 245nm of torque @ 6500rpm - & yes I saw the dyno
sheets... It was apparently a developmental engine built at Datrally.
>From memory the motor was 2.3L capacity, ran twin 50mm Motec TB's, series 1
Motec ECU, Peugeot 504 racing pistons, 38mm valves etc etc etc.
The motor was built for an off roader but supposedly never raced. Asking
price was $4500 ono and came with heaps of other components such as an oil
cooler and aluminium radiator...from memory he had on Option 1 box for sale
too.

Last year I saw a Les Collins built L18 block delivering 210HP. Cost was
around $12000, thats right, 3 zeros after the 12. Capacity is 2.31ltrs and
you have to relieve the block to allow the rods to clear the sides. The
motor will spin to 7500 all day and night, but it sounds like a truck at
idle, due to the large piston to cylinder clearance. Anything is possible
its just down to how much you want to spend.
