Lachlan,
The Bosch alternator has the amps stamped on the case. The are a few numbers
but number immediately before the "A" is the amps.

List,
I am hoping to find an alternator at the wreckers and was wondering how you
tell the difference between the above alternators, I am currently running a
40amp alternator on an L20 and need a larger one. Also is there anything
else to look out for in relation to wiring them up to an L20B.
