I checked today with TransportSA for eligibility of my Z20E for rego, and
was told over the phone that with "no doubt whatsoever" a (stock) L20b would
be legal to fit to an otherwise standard 1600

For the Z20E I had to fill out an application for vehicle modification,
which details suspension, brake, motor, wheel, tyre, track, steering and
chassis changes which they then use to figure out if the mods are legal.
It's a bit silly of course because if I presented the car as is but with an
L20b engine number it would pass with no problems! Anybody got a die
grinder handy!? Oops I think that's illegal huh :)

Thought it might be of interest to the SA listers
