Nat,
I have never had anything but excellent quality work from crankshaft
rebuilders over the last 18 years. They are as good as any others around the
traps and better than most.
If you have pulled the helicoils from the head, you are probably going to
have to get the holes welded and redrilled.The top of the head will then
need to be resurfaced as well. Unless you have checked the head condition
thoroughly before having work done it can be a bit nasty when you start work
and find all these little surprises.

Where the cam towers on the head when you got it back?
What did they actually do for the $273, crack test, surface grind, valve
grind and ????
When you say got it back in pieces, hadn't they re-installed the valves,
springs and retainers or just not the cam shaft and cam towers?
They want that head back tonight.... through their front window that is
