Andrew,
I have a sneaking suspicion that's the stuff that's in BP100 as well, isn't
it what BP called Methol Benzine? I could be on the wrong track here. I read
a report on the net somewhere that said that Optimax produces some
incredible amount of Nitrous Oxide when burnt and they bagged it for
polluting the atmosphere with worse stuff than lead - I wonder how long it's
going to stay on the market if it gets used more widely. The nitrous is
probably the sweet smell you get in the exhaust, reminds me a bit of 2
stroke race fuel. Anyway it's good stuff in a L series, I even get around
5mpg better than I was getting on LRP which makes the additional cost pretty
even overall.
regards
Terry

Terry,
I dont know if optimax is better than ultimate98 but I've read that the
ultimate
contains less than 1 percent toluene as per WA's more stringent policy.where
as
optimax uses up to 10 percent toluene to get it up to 98 octane but this
still
meets with oz standards.
