You don't neet to spend $2000 for an engine management system.  As was said by James any computer which has the features you need will suit your application.  So I would start looking around the lower end of the scale and work your way up to get a system that has all the features you need.  Some workshops only use a certain type of  management computer and don't recommend or tune any others.  So you may have to look around and pick a tuner and computer together.

    Adam.

I am not running a system as the engine is not in the car yet. I don't really have the cash to build a hardcore motor (internal work) so I was just going to put on a bigger turbo, front mount intercooler, 3" exhaust and a K&N pod filter. I don't really know what power this will give me and I havn't really thought about a qtr mile time.

    So any ideas???

    Cheers
    Dan.

You might have said this before but what system are you running and what do you hope to achieve from it, qtr mile, power?  Or is it a stock CA18DET?

      Hi list.

I am just trying to decide what engine management system to use for my new
engine. I am prepared to spend between $1500-$2000.

If anyone could suggest a suitable management system for this price that
would be quite capable of running a ca18det. I would prefer it if it uses a
      MAP sensor.

      Cheers
      Dan.
