Peter here mate.Not sure if your talking to me mate,but ive got a 120y coupe with a ca18det.Fully modified from diveline to suspension to braking.The only thing left stock is the block.Headwork,ems,intercooler,big pipe,m and w ignotion with igniter packs and a ball bearing GT28 turbo.Cams are stock........for now.Cars like this sure pack a whollop.Its been dynoed with 225hp at the wheels and 622nm of torque,and thats with wheelspin.The bottom end is a bit tired though.Heaps of blowby.

shannons will give me full compo for $650 a year and they don't care what engine the car has as long as it is engineered. i am 21.....22 in two days.....

Ive had my 3rd party property on my z18et 510 since i was around 20-21 thur Vigil for about 450-500 a year!?! Also mates have similair policies thru Shannons. However i dont personally know of any other companies to go thru.......

 You should check out that insurance cost if you have to have it - it might be totally unviable to go with an engine conversion.I reckon there is still life left in the L-series naturally aspirated not to mention more if you turbo it and a few people are doing this, getting power comparable to twin cam engines! zac

 List, was just wondering for my next project ( I pick it up next week ), would it be cheaper in the long run to just buy an SR20DET ($2400) - SSS Automotive, or i would settle for an SR20DE ($750) - SSS Automotive ---- + factor in the fact of insurance etc for an 18yr old. But also factor in that i would be looking to turbo in the next feew years.

Also - what are the major differences between the DET and the DE apart from the blindingly obvious. Thanks.Nick Hering
