I'm in the process of getting a batch of ten 1600 strut braces made up.  They have a polished alloy cross brace with stainless fittings (adjusters) and baked enamel steel tower tops.
 
They will be about $160 and should have enough adjustment to clear all L's, FJ, SR and CA conversions.

I have a strut brace in my 1600. I bought it out of a 'written off' = 1600 in=20 ACT earlier this year. I bought as part of a package, but it probaly = ended up=20 costing about $ 50. It had been custom made in Sydney, but by who I = don't=20 know. I thas improved the handling of my 1600, partiulary at higher = speed. Not=20 only that, it is a polished alloy finish, and it looks very race. I = also have=20 a fat sway bar, another contributing factor to the handling of my = vehicle. It=20 is lowered about 50mm.
