Hi Cam,

a mate of mine just HAD to have externally adjustable konis (more
for pose value :) and so they modded a 300zx pair to suit. So if you
really want externally adjustability you can, as he and Mark found.

How often are you actually gonna adjust them though? Although I
have meant to, I know I have never touched mine :) So if you stick
with the koni reds in the front, I would start with the "softest"
setting as that way if they are not to your liking you have plenty of
adjustment for increasing firmness. As I recall they are pretty hard
even at their softest setting :)

nge the state of rego for a modified car. If you are considering doing this then I'd
strongly recom
mend that if it is possible that you get the car inspected in NSW before you buy or
make it a condi
tion of sale. A mate of mine had more hassles than you could imagine re-regoing his
own car (modifi
ed FC V8 Wagon) that is show quality and fully engineered (one of the most
comprehensive reports i'
ve ever seen) and regoed in his name in Vic. He got transferred in his job to the ACT
- the items t
hat the car didn't comply with here was astounding but they let him still drive it on
a restricted
permit as he engaged a local engineer who supplied a letter of intent to rectify which
was the only
decent part of his ordeal. He would have spent in the vicinity of $2000 just to get
it regoed in t
he ACT which he was prepared to do, but if you add this sort of money onto the
purchase price of a
modified car it hurts a bit.
