Zac,
I'd check T/C rod donuts first. Easy way to check is with car on ground, grab hold of wheel at 3 & 9 o'clock and try to turn the wheel left & then back right. A bit like you'd be steering doing a weave, like a tyre warming exercise. While you're doing it, position yourself so yo can see the back of the donut and you'll see movement in the rod if there's any play.

regards
Terry

Subject: Things that go clunk

Guys after finishing off my brakes I reversed out the driveway to find the car go 'clunk' when I stomped on the brakes. it does it when the front end cops a bit of a knock, either hard brake, or down a driveway. it will seem to do it once going forwards then not again, until it does it in reverse once (then not again in reverse). then it will do it going forwards again!!
I have a feeling it might be a steering thing but odd that it should fail so suddenly.
the sound appears to come from the front of the car but all the suspension appears to be bolted down properly. might need to jack it up to double check but does anyone have any ideas?

cheers,
zac
