Wayne, Unless the 69 is different to the '70 to remove the side indicator you first have to unscrew the plastic fastener to remove the dust cover and the bulb holder on the inside of the guard then slide the lens out from the outside. It will be tricky if it's all gummed up with dirt. Unplug the connector first.

To remove the chrome strip running along the top of the doors. I simply grabbed a flat head screw driver and a cloth. Placed the cloth on the paint and gently wedged the very edge of the chrome strip up and worked my way along the strip doing the same thing.
