Wayne, i'm not sure if it is the same as the 69 model but the 71's indicatores have a built in screw that is apart of the orange plastic bit, and goes through the backing plate the hold the bulb and wiring. It's like a wing nut so if u put ur hand up inside the gaurd and feel behind the indicator (if it is what i'm talking about) u will find and nut of somesort unscrew thatand u should be able to just pull the indicator plastic out and the mettal bit which will be attached to wiring should be dangling down near ur wheel.
