The early ones have the same plastic winged disk attachment arrangement as the later ones, but the rest of the indicator is slightly different and appears more prone to rusting. Because of this I couldnt my early indicators off in the usual way anad had to hacksaw the 'nut' off. And because the early indicators arent symmetrical I had to source replacements for both sides :(
