Rare to find a Z with no rust, and those that (truly) don't have that
reflected in the price. Best place to look is in the dry outback
areas, but of course are still few and far between.

The Z Restoration Factory in Melbourne used to have some patch repair
panels. Mainly for the lower guard area, and the sill area in front
of the rear wheels. But i believe Rob (the original owner) has sold
the business and it has changed names (Chris: are you 'listening'
??). I'm pretty sure they didn't make anything for the fuel filler
or hatch areas. But any competent panel beater should be able to
make anything required - the guy that sprayed my 260Z made everything
from scratch and did a fantastic job.

One thing about the fuel filler area that most people don't realise -
the pressed metal box that holds the filler neck is actually bonded
(glued) to the rear quarter panel, not welded. This means that even
the slightest hit to this area can break or damage the bond and
eventually rust sets in. So rust in this area usually means some
sort of previous accident damage.
