Leighton,

I would say that in reality this is the exception rather than "you must"
rule and it depends on what hydraulics you've installed as an upgrade to the
original single master cylinder on your Oz model 1600. Most ppl use the 180B
proportionating valve with either a 180B 3/4" or Sunny 13/16" cylinder with
200B/240K/C210 front discs and R31 rears and usually you don't have any
problems with this combo. It's no big deal if you do, you only have to fit a
valve off a 7/8" system from a 240k/C210/Zed/C series etc and I've only had
to do this once as the front callipers were 4 spots with a 7/8" master. I've
actually seen some systems work extremely well without any external prop
valve too.

regards
Terry

Subject: R31 rear brake conversion

When doing this conversion into a 1600 i have read that "u must replace the
rear brake residual pressure valve. these cyls are set up for disc/ drum
applications & may cause the rear discs to drag & overheat"(i got this
fromthe discussion forum)

can any one else elaborate on exactly what the deal is here

thanx

Leighton
