Mark, I agree with you, but I've only used what you'd call cheap ring sets etc a couple of times and not had a good run with them. There could be a couple of brands that are somewhere in the middle ground that are quite suitable for rebuilding a fill in engine - it's a bugger when you runner falls apart a couple of months before it's being retired. If you've had good results out of cheaper stuff then by all means recommend them as I don't have a problem at all with that.
